Good day fellas - clear & warm here today - again. Been packing for a hunting trip. I leave tomorrow morning to meet a mate of mine around midday in a town north of where I live. We'll travel to the farm in his truck. For the cognoscenti, the quarry is impala & the rifle a Ruger no.1 in 7X57. I'm a big fan of Ruger rifles & the no. 1 in particular. Right now I'm smoking Macbaren Navy Flake in a Pete Mark Twain & trying to contain my excitement. Enjoy your smokes today.

Hey everyone, if anyone is interested I've got a few unopened tins of the new Fred Hanna blends by McClelland (Wilderness and Legend) that I'm willing to trade. I'm particulary looking for Solani Aged Burley Flake, CD Bayou Morning, or SG Commonwealth. Of course, I'm willing to compromise if you've got other blends you are wanting to trade. Otherwise, I'll leave these tins in the cellar and put some age on them. Happy smoking!!

Sorry, double post!! Is there a way to delete a post?

Good day MPC! Well, in spite of it being winter we are having a spell of warm days - yesterday the maximum was over 24C. And I'm not complaining. Not much to report today except that I ordered my Peterson 2010 POY last night. Heres a picture: http://www.peterson.ie/pipes/index.html. It looks like a sitter of some sort. I have all the POY's from 2004 - they are really the only true collection I have, pipe-wise. At $220 (a sharp price), they're not cheap pipes.

I'm smoking Union Square in a Jan Pietenpauw dublin. Enjoy your pipes today.

Good day fellas. Another clear, warm day here. Heck, I even had the air conditioner on in the car a little earlier! A big meeting in Johannesburg early this afternoon & now my work is pretty much done for the day. So I'm chilling with Macbaren Navy Flake in a Pete Rossclare. Enjoy your Tuesday pipes.

The best sources of fire.

Gents I'm aware that this topic is already on the forums, but I'd like an opinion on the best source of fire for you, and why?
I use a gas lighter because matches always go out and a box lasts about two days - cos my pipe still goes out a lot.
The gas lighter burns the rim of my pipe though (and I'm pretty careful not to let the flame touch the rim) - so what's the next step?
If my posts are irritating or irrelevant please let me know - I will take it on the chin.

Hey everyone, I wanted to get some of your opinions regarding the amount of nicotine in different varieties of tobacco leaf. I often read that, in general, burley leaf contains the highest concentration of nicotine. However, I have read on a few websites that Virginia contains the most nicotine (due to nitrogen-rich soil), and some claim that Perique has the most nicotine.

Morning chaps. Beautiful clear winter's day here - quite warm actually. Not too busy today for which I'm grateful as I had insomnia last night & am a little jaded. Nothing a few bowlfuls can't sort out though! Right now I'm smoking SG Medium Va Flake in a Jan Pietenpauw dublin. Have a good Monday.
