Good morning, MPC folks! It's 48 degrees with a chance of rain in the forecast here in central MO. Just fed and let out the dog, now I'm enjoying a bowl of Peretti's British Blend in a no-name saddle bit billiard. Today is hump day, then we're downhill towards the weekend! What's in your pipes this morning?
Croatia is covered with snow this morning. The traffic is in collapse here in Zagreb, temeprature is -3 C,... We really didn't expected something like that!! Anyway, things are getting under control now!!
First bowl was MB Virginia No1, in Davorin's Morta pipe, and now after a Dunhill 965 in my bent DesignBerlin, I think I will hit the road and do something usefull this day!!!
nice puffing everyone!!
:-)
Kentucky Club in a no-name bent for the ride in to work.
Looking forward to a nice enough day followed by storms. The "weather service" has issued long range warnings that we might have some flooding in the next couple of months, and after all the snow and rain we have "enjoyed". Can you imagine?
Happy puffin' to all.
especially over the next 4 days.
With my nutty work schedule this is the beginning of my weekend. Already had some C&D Cordial in my huge Lorenzo Novara.
Need more smoke, however...off to reload something.
Stay high & dry, mates.
Full sunshine and warm temps on my island this morning. Enjoying a large bowl of Engine 99 in one of my oom pauls. Thanks to Bob B and Mouse for their reply to my planned Peterson pipe purchase. Sounds like I'm going to have to change my status shortly. The bowl shape on the Aran B-10 appeals to me and the bent stem is not a problem. I disassemble all bent stem pipes before attempting to pass a cleaner. This one especially will need disassembly because it will be a P-lip. Hump day it is so mind games to get to Friday at quitting time begin dancing around in the brain. I'm on a countdown to retirement and it is looking mighty attractive. My immediate goal is to sell an investment condo I own in my neck of the woods. If anyone out there is interested you can view it on craigslist under New York City real estate for sale, click the Long Island tab at the top and key in the word Sagamore in the search window. There it will be pics and all. Priced right at $195,000. Once that is accomplished. Then my upstate NY ski house goes on the market. Hopefully, my status will change to "Looking for that one perfect parcel instead of Pete. That acreage will be in Northern Vermont where I can enjoy my pipes, shoot my ammo, savor total privacy and build my cave. Be comfortable today men and smoke in peace.
It was Nording's Pointer on the way to work. Engine 99 and Blockade Runner later.
...followed by Riverboat Gambler and now Heritage.
It's raining like hell in Wisconsin and the snow will be gone soon!
Have a great evening, everyone!
I hope to enjoy it before Captain Bob's rain gets here.
Mom's 50th birthday is tomorrow, we flew her mom and sister down from Northern Maine to surprise her. She'll find out in the morning :0)
Another nice thing happened today - I found my missing 3-in-1 tool on the fence post outside the office. Apparently somebody found it on the ground and placed it there for some unknown reason.
Hopefully this evening will bring time for a cumbustible desert. Again, I get to spend the next hour or more deciding what I want to smoke and what I want to smoke it in.
"Poor me something tall and strong, make it a hurricane before I go insane. It's only half past 12, but I don't care, it's 5 o'clock somewhere." - Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett.
And the week-end is coming... fast... No rain but a bit too cold for my taste...
This morning while driving to work was OGS on the faithful Vielle Bruyiere billiard.
Driving back was at the _sound_ of C&D Pirate Kake, the tastier latakia in the planet, on the Chacom and now I'm smoking _my_ Chinese Mud on the precious Barling Canadian.
Here's what I've had so far.
Billy Budd in the 306.
Irish Flake in the 221.
5 Brothers in the XL02.
May have some Westminster in the 306 a bit later on...lot of research needs to get done, and I'll prolly be up well into the morning.
Is Boswell's Magnum Blend in a Bermel System bent acorn. Not a good day today as we found out our Explorer will need major mechanical repairs. I'm glad the weather's getting better so I can ride my motorcycle. $8 a fillup beats $35 anyday and it's been more reliable than our Ford.
My last smoke for Wed. is Yale Mixture with a cup of tea. Spent the entire day, almost, on deck in SUN with McC 2015 after my Cordial, followed by multiple bowls of good old Engine 99.
My restocking purchase of Yale Mixture this week has brought me a slightly different experience. I was not aware of variances in C&D's blending, but this batch, or lot, is sweeter than the last 4 purchases (all probably from same bag at B&M). Whatever, it works.
Evening, folks.
Find that place and get it ready for 2012. I'll show up with my stash, booze, ammo and armory, let's not forget the swedish interns from congress. My two Plips, a 150 and a 68... the 68 hangs nicely, but not as nice as the B10 would, the 150, not so comfortable. Definitely a fishtail with the 150 for a clencher.
No tennis, meeting with sister, mom and new caregiver for mom's home with her Alzsheimer's that she's still not aware of. I don't wish this on ANYONE. Tightened shoulders and new priorities with a new CBB on the way to work today, (I generally smoke a happy Aro', nothing latakia or thoughtful). Lookout folks, if I get to be 74, you'll rue the day! Unfortunately, there's a 60% chance of a personality change, I'll wind up being kind and demeaning, HELLO .45!
Sorry to toss up on you all, third Foster's and some FMOTT in the Sav, ignore and enjoy,
We have Swedish interns in congress? Who knew?
Finishing the day with brown bogie in a Pete followed by Crown Achievement in a Barontini.
A buddy as much fun as you are is a rare find. A true gentleman and a scholar of all of the finer things in life. Congressionl Girls, guns, pipes, booze, bikes. We have almost everything in common. I did police work for fifteen years and Scott (flytier ) will tell you that is one hoot and a hollar when it comes to our kind of entertainment. You woud have been one hell of a cop! Sorry you missed out on being a performer on that stage. Bob you have a reserved invitation as my very first housewarming guest and an open one if you're in my neighborhood before then. Better get used to Latakia though. It is the "happy" air freshener I spray all over my pad. I hope the sweedish girls you know can deal with it.
Clouds here this AM deteriorating rapidly into expected torrents of rain. Still waiting for my Northwoods postal delivery and smoking Cordial, Engine, and Balkan Supreme over the day and evening ahead. Watching E-Bay for a great steal....I'm not telling you what though unless it becomes a done deal.
Morning Smokey & all who follow. Sunny & warm here today. Spent the morning running out to the airport to pick up a relative from Holland & get her settled in. Now it's time for me to get some work done. But first a pipe - Hal o' The Wynd in a GBD billiard. And very good it is too. Have a good smoking day.
