Hey guys!

So lets chat about our fav drinks with our smoke! ... I always keep a bottle of Glenlivet ... either the 12 or 15 yr variety ... I find it companies any smoke well! The 15yr is best though! Also ... Macallan ... they have a 15yr thats a great universal scotch!

Also, few times I have enjoyed a pipe with either a gin and tonic ... or gin martini's ... with Hendricks Gin ... also life changing!

I like to drink seltzer when I smoke my pipe. Refreshes the palate and doesn't mask the taste of the tobacco.

drinks

It really depends on my mood and what I have available:

Guinness Extra Stout
Heineken

And for those moments when I want to sit for an extended period of time, I have a bottle of Lucid Absinthe. A little bit of that goes a *very* long way.

usually I drink young red

usually I drink young red wine with virginia flakes and old red wine with traditional english mixtures (medium-full). Brandy with kentucky mixtures. In summer sometime milk and mint (a bit of vodka), but only with sweet tobacco. Traditional european cavendish mixtures, sometimes, with lager beer.

Nothing

As much as I love my beer (at the pub sipping a Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout right now), I prefer to drink nothing while smoking my pipe. I do not like to drink anything while eating either, so go figure.

Depends...

... on the weather, my mood, and what's in my cupboard.

If it's early morning and snow is on the ground, then coffee.

If it's afternoon and hot out, a cold Bass Ale or Honeymoon Ale will do nicely.

I've been known to drink red wine, iced tea, and cold water with a smoke, as well. Not all at the same time, of course.

I'm not too big on alcohol

I'm not too big on alcohol these days, so for me it's coffee all the way. I find nothing goes with a pipe like a cup of really good coffee. In fact, I'm in hog heaven doing that right now.

Cheap Whiskey

Cheap Scotch is the only drink my budget allows. Luckily I live near the wine producing regions of the Dark Continent and therefor supplement with copious amounts of red wine.

I'm not picky

I'm not picky, but my usual tends to be a dark brew (Guiness, etc.), coffee, or different wines. Time to time, I enjoy rum, amaretto, or some Bailey's Irish Cream.

I agree

Love the stuff. If I don't drink it straight, I mix it with Kahlua, or Frangelico, on the rocks.

Caffein and nicotine!

That is the life! But whisky and red wine goes along quite well enough with a pipe for me not too become a teetotaller! ;)

I smoke "dry".

I have yet to find a drink I enjoy with tobacco. I'm not a fan of liqour (I'm working on it but to no avail thus far) so when I do drink, it's usually something like Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper.

What to drink

To me coffee and pipe is the best, a nice hoppy pale or a stout is really good and then it would be Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Knob Creek or a decent Cognac. Although I don't smoke cigars anymore they seemed to go the best with Cabernet Savignon, Scotch and Cognac for my taste. Ale is uuniversal it goes with everthing, if it wouldn't make me drunk and fat I would drink it all day long.

Morning and into afternoon, coffee.

Later in the day, Guinness.

Drinks that compliment my pipe tastes.

Hi all, I'm new here. Thought this was an interesting thread. Among my faves for sharing equal time with my pipes, I enjoy espresso, or a nice double shot of Bushmills or Jamesons. And a pint of Guinness goes well with most of my Burley blends.

Hi

Hi Randy, welcome to My-Pipes.
I don't drink alchol anymore so I can't comment 1st hand, but I think that a red wine would go wonderful with a VaPer and a fresh withe wine would be on the spot for a Va.
A English smoke would ask for a single malt.

In my personal experience I find a hot drink like tea or coffee to work better than a cold drink.

A good rum for the stouter

A good rum for the stouter blends. Coffee for VAs, and water for the rest.

As of late, El Dorado 12yr rum is nearly always within an arms reach for a night cap. Great stuff.

I've probably said this all before...

Captain Bob's Blend: goes well with MAVRODAPHNE OF PATRAS (Sweet Red Wine) Alcohol 15% by volume. KOURTAKI brand. Product of Greece - Imported. Or, any Grape flavored Vodka on the rocks.

Heritage, Riverboat Gambler, Autumn Evening or my Pot O' Gold Mixture of the three: goes well with Rum on the Rocks. Admiral Nelson's or Captain Morgan's Spiced. Both are excellent .

And, sometimes I get them mixed up! Right now I am drinking Captain Bob's Blend and smoking Admiral Nelson's Rum on the rocks. It really doesn't matter as long as you are enjoying it! Yea..., I'm enjoying it!
