Good day fella. Mid-afternoon here & cloudy - should get some rain later. Enjoying Rattray HOTW in a Peter Klein. Been a busy week here but all of it has been working from home. So lots of pipe smoking got done as well. Enjoy your Friday - the weekend starts now!
I'm waiting for the reharsal, on a TV show, this afternoon. Since all the equipment is ready for tonight I had a lot time waiting on this sunny day. Here is 18C, (Yes and week ago here was half metar of snow!!!??) so I spent most of the time on my balcony,.. puffing!!

My paper is due to be considered for publication, I have 20 hours of work to catch up on by Monday for the professor I research for, and I still have my assignments for law review to complete. To top it off...I have a job interview today at 5, a meeting in about an hour, and I promised the little lady a date. Thank goodness for my pipes!
Currently smoking 5 Brothers in my Dunhill 107. I was told it helps with ghosts, and I'm terrified of S/A in that thing.
and it's gorgeous out there.
I spent last night with alternating smokes of McClelland 925 and C&D Tuggle Hall trying to decide which was most MM965-like. It's a tie.
Began sunup hour with C&D Bayou Morning (of which I am getting alarmingly low - time for another order, quick) and later their Stratfordshire.
Time for a afternoon smoke - unchosen as of yet.
Going back out to stand in sun...
We got to the dock at 5:00 am and it was almost six by the time we got out to Lake Michigan. Once we got out of the channel the waves died down quite a bit. Fishing was done in ten to twenty feet of water using Reef Runners and and Hot N Tot's with a Dipsy Diver. We ended up with two Brown trout that went over five pounds and two that were over ten. Now I'm at work untill 9:30 PM and after that it's off to smoke and drink beer untill who knows when. I'm thinking it's going to be Engine 99 and Labatt's Blue Light.
we've had plenty of it here. Mild temps with a good deal of wind have made for a perfect spring day. All thats about to change though, from what I hear a good sized front is going to be ripping through the area sometime in the next 24 hours. Expecting some rain and temps in the upper 30s on the night it blows through.
Very unusual for South Texas this time of year.
Mac B HH Vintage Syrian in a Pete system standard started it all off. Now its Carter Hall in a no-name bent Italy. Kids are back from grandma's, and are quickly falling back into their normal routines. 14 year old is off skate boarding at the local skate park, and my 8 year old is bouncing off the walls because she is utterly bored.
SIGH......
I had a very nice flight in Wisconsin today with an eye out for the Front. We flew to a couple airports and had lunch before returning home. The last 30 miles were in the clouds and drizzle as the weather change had arrived. All in all, a very good day of flying. Landed just before the clouds really let loose. I just lit a fire in the fireplace, poured a glass of Rum on the Rocks and lit my pipe full of Pot O' Gold.
Relaxing, drinking and smoking my pipe...
Enjoy!
and the end of a wonderful pipe smoking day.
After my Stratfordshire I smoked a number of bowls on McC 925 to put it to the test, through the paces, so to speak. Still, a pretty good smoke, IMHO.
For late afternoon I cracked open my first C&D Mississippi Mud and was thereby blown away with something, blend-wise, totally unexpected. I'm on my third bowl now...and don't want to stop. Think I'll go pour a scotch, neat, to mellow myself out some.
MM is unique to say the least! Perique, Latakia and unsweetened unflavored superior black cavendish. It smokes smooth and cool with a wonderful tobacco flavor. Enjoy, my friend.
Officially Saturday, but one more bowl, maybe some Squadron Leader.
And I'm up with a miserable toothache on one of my clenching teeth on the right side. I've tried both Ibuprofen and Vicodin with no results so far. l figured as long as I"m miserable, I might as well have a pipeful of Peretti's Park Square (superb VA/Per) in my Peterson 87 apple. Amazingly enough, it seems to be helping.
Had a GREAT motorcycle ride earlier today in the 60+ temps. Put on about 100 miles of backroads before the temps started to cool down. Tomorrow we're expecting 30s and rain, possibly mixed with snow. Sunday has an even better chance of snow. MO weather, grrrr........
Enjoy your Saturday pipes, folks!
Really Saturday now, but I just got home from work and have to get up in three for OT. USTA league doubles at noon and then sit with mom for five after that. Thank goodness there is Sunday, nothing but a couple hours of league doubles, Jack and my pipes planned for it.
Enjoy,

Beautiful day with sunshine and everything!
