Greets all. Peacehaven in a cob to start the day. Coffee on the side. Massive snow storm to the south, but nothing here in SE New England but cold. Sorry your fishing trip got rained out, Muddler.
Nice and clear weather here. Usually you must go to much exotic places to see a sky so blue as it is today. Temps are about 15ºC. Just come back from a small drive (the Wife needed some inks and stuff) and the grass is really green with a lot of yellow flowers... Nice, usually you only got this green in England or Ireland...
Opening the day with C&D CBB on the small Peterson Belgique.
Foot and a half of snow here so far; after the first round of shoveling, a bowl of Boswell's Northwoods in an Ardor Canadian. Going for an Arctic theme.

Good morning
Its a crisp Saturday morning here in South Texas. Its just me and the dogs awake right now, enjoying the calm before the storm. Once the rest of the house is stirring things are going to get loud.
Mac B Honey & Chocolate in the Sav again. Good stuff.

Pipe in the mouth and headed out to look at all the white stuff, and to watch the intersection by the apartment, because I am sure a bunch of idiots are going to be driving too fast and mess everything up.
Cracked in the corner of my mug today is a new Bjarne bent bulldog filled with Toast to the 90's (an aromatic blend from Jeanies Smoke shop). The taste and aroma of this blend are similar to Pipesandcigars.com butternut burley, or Lane Limited 1Q mixed with RLP-6, or a mix of captain black white and royal.
Big projects today consist of attempting a flicker account, drinking copious amounts of this delicious Tanzanian Peaberry coffee, a little whisky, and probably some food at some point, but I am out of donuts, so probably no food until later.
The wife is headed to work, and I have the whole place to myself for the next couple of hours. My plans are to camp on the couch, but I am sure there are better things to do.

Reloading the Sav with some Half and Half while I dig in for some serious pipe cleaning.

Morning surprise....none of it here on Eastern Long Island. So far, so good. Just read the replies on the aromatic thread regarding suggestions for a blend. Bob C described C&D's description of Gentlemen Callers. Sooooo curiosity got the better of me. I searched the C&D website and could not find Gentlemen Callers. I did, however, start reading about Capt. Earle's blends and about all the Latakia therein. So my saliva glands said to my brain...."sweetheart, they're singing my song". Has anyone out there in the community sampled any of the Capt. Earle blends?
Slartie, we need some type of spreadsheet that could index the blends we smoke, their description, and availability. C&D for example has so much to choose from it is mind boggling. I'm a guy who likes to choose from three or four favorite blends for my smokes each day. There is no way I could ever just keep sampling all that there is to offer just to find that evermore better blend. I read tobacco reviews each day and our neighbor Demetri Aristokles is a regular contributor but I would enjoy our own reviews in addition because then we could discuss them together.
Anyway, now it's time for breakfast followed by a morning load of Black Watch. Plans for this afternoon are Engine 99 in a large OOM PAUL (I'm talkin LARGE) with a Jim Beam Bourbon chaser maybe a double. I thought I'd be snowbound.....but I'm not changing my afternoon plans just because there is no snow....ha ha. Nightcap pipe while enjoying Saturday Night Live is going to be Penzance. Stay tuned, warm, safe, and be happy today all!

Yep, it be asnowin' out there. Had to make an emergency support for roof of my sunporch. I can't have my smoking room collapse. Like Tim, we've about 18 inches. I usually spend weekends using my big Linux computer but due to 30-40 power outages since 9PM last night I'm just keeping the laptop up with it's battery well-charged.
First smoke was C&D 965 - Tuggle Hall in my BBB Two Thousand apple, Wish I had stuck to my usual Bayou Morning or Stratfordshire instead though - too heavy this morning. I think I might cleanse my palate with Harvey Wallbanger.

Here comes the calvary
Tell you what. I'll head up there with covered wagon stocked to the brim with all the necessary supplies for survival. Donuts, mama's world famous potato salad, beer, whiskey, a pot o cowboy beans from Rustic Foods, my MM corn cob, potted meat and one can opener.
Think that just about covers it.
Time to saddle up!

I'll take some of that snow off your hands.
The rain does get a bit old here, but spring is on the way. The day started here with Carter Hall in an Armellini poker and moves ahead with Edgeworth RR'd in a Custombilt lovat. As usual, black coffee on the side.

Fixed one problem with one of the birds, (I do avionics systems on working Navy E-2c's and C-2' aircraft) and realized I had a serious migraine coming on. One of those that starts in the forehead and continues back over the top, then gets prickly with a little nausea. Now the eye is starting to twitch.
This sucks, gotta family meeting this afternoon with two of the sibs about what to do with mom. She's quickly succumbing to Alzheimer's. Makes you realize the difference between hurt and pain. Sweetest woman in the world, guess I'm here to counter that and keep the universe equal. You don't have to thank me for doing my part well, just appreciate an artist.
Loading the little, crappy Bjarne with Squadron Leader in honor of the crappy, no tennis day 'cause of the freakin' rain. I'll toss a couple of oilcans before the meeting to keep my mouth in check. Too bad it's not being held here where I can smoke AND think. Well, half of one is better than nothing.
Our 'Superbowl' tomorrow, got 4lbs. of king crab legs, 2lbs. of fresh yellowtail, Brats and sauerkraut and some sliced ham to go with the usual crap, oh and a twelve pack of oilcans with a stern quip from the lovely trophy bride about the diabetes. Hey, there's only two of us, should I have gotten more?
Enjoy all,

Happiness is a warm pipe.
I am on my way, but I think they closed the airports here, so it will be a long walk. See you in three weeks
