Thanks for your review. I need to open an account at Milan and try this and other blends. However, your review reminded me that I still have three sealed pouches of the original from a 5 pouch purchase from at least 8 years ago (maybe earlier). I've been hesitant in smoking my remainder as I couldn't get any more. Perhaps I'll try some anyway. The pouches have a "bloom" similar to what cigar cellophane gets from extended storage; hence, I must 'test' some.

Aristokles,

Let me know what you find... I don't think aging will do LD any good. In fact, it may do harm. LD was one of two blends that inspired CBB over the years.

I am pleased to report that the tobacco survived the storage. I can't say it improved, but then I can't say it was degraded. While I expected to find dessicated tobacco dust in the pouch I was surprised to find still packable, smokable product. Now in past I would have deemed it too dry despite packing easily, but since becoming almost exclusively a C&D blend smoker the burn seemed quite normal.
I do wish I had smoked more of this in the past for a comparison. However, I can say that I will miss this when I finish my stash.
The only thing I can opine as to Middleton's deaf ear to our requests for new production is that it is just too expensive, component-wise, for them to fool with. Looking at their current offerings I do not see a lot that would use Orientals/Turkish or Perique. I do question any company holding recipes and rights to blends that they will not make. That makes little sense. Sell them or license them to someone who will make it. Win-win. Oh well...
I enjoy the light rum flavoring. I would not call what I smoked an aro, however. But it was danged good.
Return opened pouch to storage or smoke it up?
Decisions, decisions.
