Well, my first smoke of the day is in my brand new Golden Morta Pipe, that I got for present from my pal Davorin, yesterday in the Pipe Club!!!
Pipe is wonderfull, made from Golden Morta, which is very rare, and from the root part, which is even rarer!!! Morta pipes are usualy not made from root, like briar, pipes, because, like Dvorin explaind to me, the root from fossilized oak (morta), usually rottens, and it's very hard to find morta root that is good enough for pipes!!!!
The first smoke is MB Scottish Mixture, and what is good with morta, you don't have to brake in the pipe!!! You just pack the whole bowl and that's it!!!!!
It tastes WONDERFULL!!!!
I didn't get the chance to make a little photo session with my new pipe, but I will share it soon!!! :-)
Anyway, you can get the picture..... http://www.lule-od-morte.zxq.net/Hrvatski/Home.html

A little insomnia before the courts in 6 1/2 hrs. Drizzling a couple of VOX 'Green Apple' miniatures after having watched 5th Element on Blu-ray, (Eric, you payin' attention?). Zzz's soon after I finish this bowl of freshly renewed CBB.
My best to all, enjoy,
Morning all. Mild and humid here in South Texas...can only mean one thing. Summer is coming. See we usually only have two season, winter and summer. Started it all off with a very satisfying bowl of PS Luxury Bullseye Flake in a Sav billiard. Hot coffee on the side.
BobB I watched that same movie last night myself on Blue-ray. It was on one of the cable channels, and I decided to pop in the blue-ray and do it right. Wow. One of my top 5 for visual effects.
Gladiator is another excellent flick to watch in full HD. May have to do just that at some point today.
Have a good one
Well, this seems to be the official daily smoking thread (not the TGIF one I posted under earlier). Taking a break with a bowl of Old Gowrie in my Windjammer panelled billiard. Great smoke.
...Sunny but major fog caused a shut-down of our expressway. Cars piled up on cars. It may make the national news.
Today's Menu:
Two Friends Heritage
Captain Bob's Blend
Pot O' Gold
First of the day here is Edgeworth RR'd in an Armellini poker.
Recovering, so to speak, from another Aristokles' smoking binge of yesterday:
Thursday morning after work - Tuggle Hall in big Hyde Park billiard, and then another while waiting for repair shop to open as I delivered Jeep for repair at 7 AM. Tuggle Hall is not a blend to be trifled with as it packs a major punch. Two quick bowls in a row are (or should be) quite enough.
Wife retrieves me from shop at 7:10 and I arrive home to fresh coffee and ANOTHER bowl of the Hall- whew.
At 10 AM: C&D Plantation Evening - not exactly a lightweight either.
Then to lunch at 11:30 with wife to Chinese buffet. Using her car (NO cigars or strong pipes, please) I took an MM cob- load of Carter Hall (yes, you read that right). Smoked this one on way back home. At that point I'd been awake for 22 hours, but what was the point of sleeping as I awaited call for Jeep pickup? So...
more Plantation Evening but in my Calabresi bent billiard. At 5PM wife dropped me off at shop as she headed in to her night job. I celebrated a repair bill of ONLY $113.00 with a bowl of MacB HH Vintage Syrian with scotch on the side. And then, alone, another.
At 7 PM, on third drink, more Plantation Evening as I called my Dad and we chatted pipe stuff for 1 1/2 hours, as we both smoked and sipped all the while.
By the time wife got home at 10 PM and complained house smelled like a bar does I was done smoking (by royal spousal edict).
Until this morn... C&D Stratfordshire with coffee (no scotch, yet).
Maybe I need professional help? It all started with the little squeak under the hood, honest.
*Forgot, last smoke last night was Escudo. What a day.
Starting off with some Navy Flake in my Deluxe Classic 221. Can't make out the 3rd hallmark; apparently when it gets to the end of the year, the stamps are worn out. Oi...
Hope all is well MPC'ers!
that my latest TAD (Adirondack Northway) needs a dedicated pipe. It has some sort of mint or menthol type flavoring. I had a bowl of Nording's Pointer not long after and let me tell you, YUCK, ICK and BLAHHH! Anyhow today started off with C&D Blockade Runner.
Looks like a "Gone In Sixty Seconds" moment. Probably all California drivers. Had a couple of 'white out' events when I was still riding the motorcycle. You WILL have conversations with God.
Back from the courts and gettin' ready for work. Stuffin' a pete dubby with Trout Stream for the ride in. Rnjoy all,
Back from the courts and gettin' ready for work. Stuffin' a pete dubby with Trout Stream for the ride in. Rnjoy all,
Its amazing just how religious a person can get, when encountering a patch of black ice at 70+mph. Used to ride a 1989 Triumph Sprint. Nothing like a British triple between your legs....well anyway, you get the message.
Still puffing away...trying to make up for lost time. Dan Tobacco DaVinci in a MM Cob.
Going to load up some Mac B Plumcake in said cob just as soon as I get off here.
Still raining here, not to cold.
Standard smokes only, OGS in the morning and Three Nuns on the evening.
I renamed my blend of Wenti Blend and Perique from Chinese Morning to Chinese Mud, and I'm smoking a bowl of it right now, well... not _that_ bad... ;-)
My last TAD has been shipped and it's on the way, at the last moment I added a tin of GLP Haddo's Delight, I'm in a Perique mood but I'm a bit worried from reading the reviews, just to cite one:
«They run the gamut from "absolutely vile," to "puzzling," to "weird," to someone who named their son after it»
I don't know what to expect...
I don't expect to have another son, but I may well name a future cat or dog "Orlik"... :-)))
I think, judging from what you like, that you will love Haddos; it is sublime with a few years age on it, so if you find it not to your liking now, put it away for a while.
Back from the courts and gettin' ready for work. Stuffin' a pete dubby with Trout Stream for the ride in. Rnjoy all,
This accident took place just a few miles from my home. There was a wall of ice fog present at the scene. However, just a couple miles from there at my home it was CAVU (Clear skies visibility unlimited)!
With some 1Q in my Savinelli Punta Oro apple. I really need to re-order some of Boswell's aromatics and some Captain Bob's Blend, along with more Epiphany but the tobacco budget is limited. Boswell's prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year, with most of their aromatics at $2.40/oz. and $3.50/oz. for English blends.
Last I checked you can get a pound of CBB direct from C&D for $34.50 in a bag. Or, add a tin for $2.50. If you get a bag be prepared to place it in two 8 ounce wide-mouth mason jars for storage. It will never lose its character if you do that.
Have you smoked CBB yet? If not, perhaps a two-ounce tin would be a better recommendation for a trial.
I also have Epiphany on hand. I like Epiphany a lot. But, I don't smoke it regularly because it is very similar to CBB. The flavoring is different but the "light-English" tobacco blend is similar. There are six tobacco's in CBB: Red Virginia, flue-cured Green River Kentucky Burley, Carolina Brights, Turkish from Izmir, Perique and Latakia. The Latakia content is 1/16th.
My ride was a brand new 1976 Harley FLH Liberty Edition with full dress. A black with metal flake beauty; red white and blue pinstripes and lots of chrome. I rode from '76 to '83 when son #2 was born and decided that I needed to live to help my wife raise our family. Like all bikers, I had my religious moments. I decided enough was enough. So the bike got parked and collected dust in our garage for several years until we sold it to some Hell's Angels bikers and used the money to put a new roof on our house.
To this day I think about the exhilaration of the ride, blast of the exhaust, wind in the face and a "wet crotch event" between 55 and 60mph every time. There is nothing like a motorcycle ride for a rush as long as you don't mind it being your last. I find it really a blast to be over the hill, smoking a grandfatherly pipe, and conversing with you guys about our bikes and guns. Who would ever figure us as a wild bunch?
Warm feet and a cup of coffee became important. For eleven years I had only a bike for transportation and loved it! Blew my neck out in an accident and had to give up the rockets and the folded position. my last bike, a Yamaha FV-1 was just too boring and was just being used to get to work and back. I've done 50-60 knot gusts on the Coronado bridge here in the pouring rain and made many promises to Him/Her that I could not keep. I miss the track, but not the bikes enough to go get a recliner.
My truck, my pipe and my dog, that's a combo I can live with for a long time.
Acctully I found a photo of the pipe on his site!!!
