Looked awesome before, now with color added, its top shelf!
Nicely done there Senior!
Hey does Craig know you're posting the finished artwork for his comany's label? (not just the lid design but the whole label???) I can't imagine he'd be happy about that.
Anyway, I like it much better in color.
Im in for one even if its empty
It is up to Craig Tarler when labels will be printed and used. I only just received the artwork from Craig today and notified him of my approval. Final arrangements with the artist are pending Craig's orders. Craig is in charge. I sure do like the artwork!
Good looking artwork there, Bob. Congrats.
Bob you must feel like a proud papa. Take Care.
Jack
This sounds like it would be something I'd enjoy. Will be looking for it.
Here is some really good news from Craig Tarler and me. Captain Bob's Blend will remain on the "Bulk Pricing Schedule". This is a substantial savings of more than $15.00 per pound! However, if you prefer CBB in a Tin rather than a bag, the additional cost is only $2.50!
CBB is available from your C&D Dealers in 2 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz (if they have it already or you can request that they order it for you). Or, you can order it direct from C&D if your dealer does not carry it or will not order it for you. Not all C&D Dealers stock all C&D Blends because there are so many, I can understand that. But, most dealer's I have talked to are pleased to order it for you. On the other hand, there are dealers that only carry certain C&D blends and prefer not to handle additional blends. For example, shop dealers are generally much more willing to order for you than e-tailers are!
Here is more good news! The attractive CBB label will be on all packages of CBB bagged or tinned as soon as the printing is done. That should be soon!
Finally, Craig has informed me [Quote] "It usually takes 6-12 months for a blend to really catch on and this one has all the earmarks".
So, once again, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all of you who support C&D by smoking their tobacco's. I also want to say a very special "THANK YOU" to all of you who have so ardently supported me in my quest to create the blend of my personal dreams. I had no idea this blend would become a product offering by C&D! That in itself is the greatest honor I could even dare to imagine. But, it has happened. My compensation? Simple. No money. Just the satisfaction of sharing something that gives me so much pleasure. The pipe!

Capt Bob, you're the man.
I haven't tasted CBB yet, but with all dedication you have shown us it must be one of the best blends in the world.
I rise my pipe to you (Univ Flake) - Well done!
As soon as my "schnozzola" clears up from this sinus thing, I'm gonna apply flame to CBB. I am clearing up a bit and can kinda smell now and that stuff smells awesome.
Can't wait.
Can't wait.
My sympathies. I couldn't smell or taste a thing for weeks.
Hope you're better soon.
I'd been waiting to try CBB for quite sometime. I finally got my hands on some, and then the sinus thing.
I've got what's going around. I imagine within a week I'll be good as a new pair of snow tires.
Can't wait.
My sympathies. I couldn't smell or taste a thing for weeks.
Hope you're better soon.
Mogwart, I took a look at your neat site. Very nice, indeed! Other's should take a gander at it, too: http://www.lambsearfarm.com/
Bob, The Perique in CBB will tickle your nose and make you sneeze. So, wait until your sinus problem has cleared and then have at it. The Latakia will also spring your taste buds back into action. Take care.
Congratulations! Imagine, having your own blend manufactured and produced by C&D! BTW, who is that fighter pilot shooting at? Squadron Leader??!!
I am flying the plane and shooting down "Squadron Leader"... then it's back to the U.S. "OGS" aircraft carrier for grape vodka and some CBB!
Thanks for the plug, Capt. Bob.
Capt Bob,
Finally, I should be able to order CBB from Synjeco next month, right now they are waiting for some to arrive.
Your blend is getting known all around...

That's wonderful news, Vasco. I understand that dealer's are now showing interest in CBB thanks to good people like you.
... for my pipe smoking friends around town. I decided the party platter would be comprised of CBB. Here is how I shall serve it.

Getting ready to pop the last tin... one more picture!

I sure wish all of my MPC buddies lived closer. I'd like to throw a party for all of you to celebrate our wonderful hobby. I'd supply the tobacco for all of you!
Awesome, Bob. Just plain awesome :)
You missed Squadron Leader. CBB is way too unique to compare. CBB does have one thing in common besides the airplane, both are truly wonderful tobaccos.
Congrats and nicely done.
I must try some of this blend! One question: does it compare in any way to C&D Epiphany? I love that blend, one of my top five tobaccos. I love the way you can get a hint of the topping while smoking it, along with the burley and Latakia flavor. Is the topping a little stronger in Captain Bob's Blend, or is it about the same as Epiphany?
The tobacco formula for Captain Bob's Blend is very similar to Epiphany. Yes, the difference is primarily in the topping.
The tobacco's in Captain Bob's Blend consist of Red Virginia, Flue-cured Kentucky Green River Burley, Carolina Brights, Izmir Turkish, Perique and Latakia.
The topping is a mixture of: Grape, Vanilla, Orange, Caramel, Black Walnut and Maple.
If you find the "nose" a little too strong, a short breath of fresh air (maybe ten minutes or so) before lighting it will do the trick. Or, leave it in a pouch just overnight.
Very comparable to Epiphany but uniquely different.
I will now repiar the broken links to the pictures above that appeared earlier in this topic. Scroll up and have a look. This may take me a few minutes to repair.
For your quick reply. Looks like I will have to call C&D and order some.
...in order to repair the picture placement in it (02/17/2010).

Thank you for reviving this topic. It caused me to realize that the link to the pictures had been broken when I did some rearranging on photobucket.com. I have repaired all the links now. The one that appears to still be missing is duplicated because I was not able to repair/edit the original post for some reason.
Current pricing for one pound of CBB when ordered direct from C&D is still $34.50 per pound in a bag. However, you can request it tinned for an additional $2.50 in any size of 2, 8 or 16 ounces. I strongly suggest you order it in a tin for best results! CBB is the only blend available from C&D with a custom art label/decal that is priced at bulk pricing. All their other tinned blends are typically $50 per pound. This preservation of "bulk" pricing was at my personal request. So, it is worth your while to have it tinned for the mere sum of $2.50 any size!
Enjoy! Thank you all for your support. Remember, please, that I am not compensated in royalty for the sale of CBB. That was also my request. I never intended to go commercial with this blend. It was just intended as my own private blend. However, due in large part to your support, Craig Tarler promoted CBB. As a result, it is one of C&D's renowned Artisan Blends available through all his Dealers or directly from C&D. If your favorite e-tailer or retailer does not carry CBB, don't hesitate to request them to order it for you. Or, simply call C&D and get it from them if you prefer.
Thank you! I noticed you recently placed a favorable review of Captain Bob's Blend on TobaccoReviews.com. Being that you have smoked a pipe for 42 years, I consider it an honor to receive such a good review from a distinguished pipe smoker. Enjoy!
If any of you care to read Mouse's review, just click the link shown below my banner. Thanks again, everyone. I am truly honored!
When will it be available on tins. I would not mind getting one for my collection.
